Letters Home is a memoir, a glimpse into the life and WWII service of my grandfather, Stanley “Pop” Grimes. Woven from the threads of his heartfelt letters to his bride, Mary Lou, his unvarnished recollections, many hours of research and a dash of creative liberty, it has slowly come to life over the past few years. For those who prefer, this narrative may be regarded as fiction, but I’ve tried to tell his story as faithfully as possible.
